Privacy

Brooklyn treats your personal data very considerately. We do everything that is in our power in order to guarantee the reliability, safety and integrity of the data we collect.

 Your privacy is being protected as follows :

  • Your personal data will under no circumstances be given, sold or granted to a third party. They will only be made available to a third party that is involved in the execution of your order (e.g. courier company).
  • Your personal data are saved in a database that is not accessible to the public.
  • Your payment data are encrypted before being sent over the internet, so spies, phishers and other eavesdroppers don't have a chance.
  • As a customer, you will only receive promotional e-mails about the Brooklyn products. If you no longer wish to receive our e-mails, you can cancel them at all time by simply clicking the cancellation button at the bottom of every e-mail, or by sending an e-mail to info@brooklyn.be. You will then receive no more e-mails or newsletters.
  • If you leave us your phone number, we will only call you in order to inform you about the questions you have asked or the orders you have placed.
  • If you leave us your mobile phone number, you will only receive text messages in order to inform you about the questions you have asked or the orders you have placed.

The forms on our website always have clear indications of which fields are mandatory to be filled, and which fields can be filled optionally.

Without your permission, we will not use your personal data in order to contact you for other purposes.

If you place an order at Brooklyn, we may ask the following :

  • Your name, address and phone number. These are necessary for the correct delivery of your order.
  • Your e-mail address, so we can keep you up-to-date on the processing of your order.
  • Payment information, such as credit card number and/or bank account number. These data are necessary for the secure treatment of your payment.

Should there be mistakes in the address-, invoice- or other personal data, Brooklyn cannot be held accountable for the impossibility to comply with her obligations (e.g. keeping the customer informed or making the delivery). As a customer, you are responsible for the confidentiality of the password linked to your customer profile.

Minors (under 18) can use the present website solely with permission of their parent(s) or caretaker.

Brooklyn may use the collected customer information for purposes other than those intended in the present Privacy Policy. In that case, we will contact you in advance in order to inform you of the changes to our Privacy Policy and to offer you the chance to withhold your cooperation. 

Cookies

In order to save your shopping cart, the present website makes use of a so-called cookie. This is a small text file that is saved on your computer. It is saved only during one browsing session - as soon as you close your browser, the cookie is removed.

Just like all other webshops, we also use cookies to keep track of which pages are being visited and which elements of shop.brooklyn.be are being used. This allows us to even further improve our website by adapting it to your wishes. These data are explicitly not being used in order to compose a profile of our customers. 

Removal or Amendment of Data

Do you wish to consult your personal data ?  Do you want Brooklyn to remove or to change those data ?  Send us your request at info@brooklyn.be, and we will take care of this as soon as possible. 

Google Analytics

The present website uses Google Analytics, a service for web analysis offered by Google Inc. ("Google", "she"). Google Analytics makes use of "cookies" (small text files that are saved on your computer) in order to help the website analyse how visitors use the website. The information on your use of the website (including your IP-address), generated by the cookie, is sent to Google and saved in their server in the USA.

Google uses this information in order to keep track of how the visitor uses the website, to edit reports on the activity of a website destined to the operators of said website, and to offer other services in relation to website activity and internet usage. Google is allowed to pass this information on to a third party if she is legally bound to do so, or if this third party  processes the information on behalf of Google. Google will not link your IP-address to other data she has at her disposal.

You may block the use of cookies in your browser settings. But we have to warn you that, should you do so, you may not be able to fully make use of all the possibilities of the website. By using the present website, you allow Google to process the information in the manner and for the purposes as described above. 

Safety

Brooklyn has taken all necessary measures in order to prevent the loss, abuse or modification of the information we receive on our website and to execute all payments in a safe manner. Thanks to SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), all transaction data are being encrypted when sent over the internet. You need no special software to pay with SSL.

If you place an order with the present website, and you choose to pay online with VISA, Master Card or Maestro, you will be asked to enter your card number. Treatment of this transaction is executed by Multisafepay, a certified payment provider who guarantees a 100% safe transaction. Brooklyn employees will not be able to see your credit card number.

The present website contains links to other sites that are not part of Brooklyn. Brooklyn is in no way liable for the way these third party websites handle the privacy of their visitors or customers.
